About Wire Bending Masterclass

This 4-hour intensive hands-on wire bending masterclass will give clinicians the necessary skills in fixed orthodontic therapy. The dentist can use these techniques in finishing and detailing procedures commonly encountered toward the end of treatment.

Practical Components

Hands-on experience to achieve full BACD accreditation level in photography.
Consistent photography workflow.
Extra-oral photography using an affordable compact studio setup.
Practice identifying landmarks and reference points to ensure accurate clinical photos.
Focus on capturing necessary details during photography sessions.
Develop a quick and accurate workflow for taking a full set of intra-oral photographs.

Aims:

To understand the importance of wire bending in fixed orthodontics
To understand basic wire-bending skills
To understand basic biomechanics
To be able to scrutinize and troubleshoot finishing bends
To be able to apply the knowledge in a clinical setting
To enhance the quality of the finish of completed patients

To understand when to use 1st, 2nd and 3rd order bends
To be able to form 1st, 2nd and 3rd order bends
To understand when to use loop mechanics
To understand when to use offset and artistic bends
To recall various arch forms used in orthodontics
To be able to form customized arch forms and curves
To scrutinize the above bends
